After reading my book...

One day, the author's mother sent e-mail to the author. She wants to know the author and the author's husband are doing. The author's mother―Chizuko is a self-taught natural master of Japanese home cooking who never refer to a cookbook. The author thinks Chizuko's cooking is not only just as a sign of love but also as the perfect symbol of why Japanese women are living longer and healthier than everyone else on Earth, and why they and their husband have the lowest obesity rates in the developed world.

Thanks to this book, I was able to realize how important everyday diets are. And I think that I am vary happy to be born in this country. This book is really interesting for me!

  1. Japanese foods are the most favorite kinds of cuisines for me, because these contain many vegetables, good meats and fish.
I want to know more details of the secrets of Japanese foods!

  2. It's great that in the rush to modernize and Westernize, Japanese people haven't forgotten about the virtues of the traditional Japanese diet. It's important to, at least, know what eating in a healthy way means, even if Japanese splurge sometimes. Most Japanese understand "healthy eating," but, regrettably, what many Americans think is healthy (drinking milk, eating cheese, consuming lots of meat) is far from healthy. Japanese cuisine has nutritious staples, like rice and a wide variety of tasty soy products. It is said that staples are lacking in the typical American diet, and I think that's true. At one time, most Americans ate whole grain bread, which was a healthy staple, but these days a nutritious staple food is lacking.
